Neches Race Continues

Despite record breaking Texas heat and a new directorship the Neches Wilderness Race for 2011 is in the books and thanks to the large group of volunteers who have stayed with the race and honed their skills over years of dedicated service, the consensus has it,a very successful one it was.  Over eighty canoeists and kayakers braved the heat and challenging Neches River course this year, most of whom persevered all the way to the finish line to claim the coveted " I Survived" tee shirt awaiting them there along with Hickory smoked hamburgers and dogs, cold watermelon and soft drinks. A thanks to all of the participants for their exemplary conduct under extremely stressful and demanding conditions and for the help your effort has brought to the students of Trinity Valley Community College.
